Our Commitment

As someone who lives with an invisible disability and speaks about inclusion for a living, Lauren believes accessibility isn't just a checkbox โ€” it's a core value. We are committed to ensuring that laurensaysyay.com is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of ability or technology.

Standards We Follow

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at the AA level. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.

What We've Done

Our efforts to ensure accessibility include:

Semantic HTML structure for screen reader compatibility.
Descriptive alt text on all images.
Sufficient colour contrast between text and backgrounds.
Keyboard-navigable menus and interactive elements.
Responsive design that works across devices, screen sizes, and orientations.
Properly labelled form inputs on our contact page.
Aria labels on all icon-only links and buttons.

Known Limitations

While we strive for full accessibility, some content may not yet be fully optimized. Third-party content such as embedded YouTube videos is governed by the accessibility practices of those platforms. We are continuously working to identify and address any gaps.

Feedback

Accessibility is an ongoing effort, and we welcome your input. If you encounter any barriers on this website or have suggestions for improvement, please contact us at yay@laurensaysyay.com. We take all feedback seriously and will do our best to address concerns promptly.
