My TEDx Talk Crossed 30,000 Views!
This week, Sept 14-20, is World Mitochondrial Disease Week. That combined with the timing of my TEDx talk hitting a new milestone feels almost serendipitous - it's hit over 30,000 views! π₯Ήπ
In my talk, I build up to explaining that I was born with Central Core Disease, a rare disorder where some of the mitochondria in my muscle cells is missing.
CCD is considered a neuromuscular disorder and not a mitochondrial disease, but considering I use the "the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell" reference in all my keynotes, this week still feels so relevant! π§¬
With some of my mitochondria missing, a lot of things are harder for me than the average person - so in my talk, I share the steps I use to find small moments of joy to keep me going.
Not despite my struggles, but through them.
I'm so thankful my message is spreading, and I'm hoping it keeps reaching the people who need to hear it:
- Those who are living with an invisible struggle that's outside of their control
- Those with something about themselves or their lives that they're hesitant to share with others
- Those who are hiding or masking to fit in, and wondering where to go from here
Everyone can benefit from finding and creating their own joy to get through their difficult times - and this talk shows you how.
If you haven't seen my TEDx yet, you can watch, comment and share at the YouTube link here - thank you so much! π«Άπ½β¨
